Als India het milieu weet te beschermen en de armen kan betrekken bij de onstuimige economische groei, dan kan het land gids voor de rest van wereld zijn. Mira Kamdar hoopt dat het zo zal gaan. Intussen beschrijft zij in haar boek Planeet India het rijke én het arme India. Haar papieren rondleiding is net zo duizelingwekkend als een bezoek aan het land zelf.
