Oracle Database 10g SQL

Go from Novice to Master with the Definitive Guide to Oracle SQL.

Paperback Engels 2004 9780072229813

'Oracle Database 10g SQL' is for all Oracle DBA's and developers. DBA's use the SQL subset known as Data Definition Language (DDL) to define and manipulate data structures, and developers use a subset called Data Manipulation Language (DML) to access and manipulate data previously defined by DDL. The fact of the matter is that no DBA or developer can do their job well without an understanding of the entire SQL picture.

- The book content is being developed in concert with the Oracle development team to cover the next release of the database and Oracle's compliance with the new SQL2003 specification.
- This book will take the reader from no knowledge of Oracle SQL to being a master covering not only how to use SQL but also the details of the Oracle extensions to SQL.
- This book will cover the details on how to use SQL with an Oracle database. Coverage of SQL*Plus will also be provided.
- The examples in this book will feature the sample schemas available to everyone in the database. Any additional code will be made available for download.
Tuning Oracle SQL and understanding the Oracle optimiser will also be covered.
