David P. Stewart is Professor from Practice at Georgetown University Law Center, where he teaches public and private international law and foreign relations law. Over a 32 year career in the U.S. Department of Statehe served as Assistant Legal Adviser in a number of substantive areas, including private international law, diplomatic law and litigation, international claims and investment disputes, law enforcement and intelligence, and human rights and refugees. His publications (author or co-author) include the Digest of U.S. Practice In International Law (seven volumes), International Human Rights In A Nutshell, International And Transnational Criminal Law, International Criminal Law In A Nutshell, and The Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act: A Guide For Judges.
