He served 10 years as a Senior Engineering Fellow and was a founder and Program Director for the ASM Consortium®, Honeywell Industrial Automation & Control. Before joining Honeywell, he worked for 25 years as an instrument/electrical engineer, and computer applications manager for Imperial Chemical Industries in the U.K.

Ian studied electrical and electronic engineering at Teesside (U.K.) University and is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, a Senior Member of the ISA, and a member of NSPE.
