Amongst Farmers

A Bold Journey: Living Among Congo’s Farmers

This book takes you deep into our lives among the rural communities of Congo, a world that’s different in every possible way. At times raw, often beautiful, always intense.
We share our personal experiences: the warm encounters, moving moments, and quiet triumphs. But also the frustration, anger, and exhaustion. Illness, setbacks, and loneliness are part of the story, just like hope, humor, resilience, and joy.

You’ll travel with us through the emotional rollercoaster of daily life alongside smallholder farmers. And through our search for meaningful ways to work together for change: fighting poverty and malnutrition, improving farming methods sustainably, protecting forests and savannas; all with plenty of trial and error.
It’s an honest and compelling account of progress, partnership, culture clashes, and the power of shared faith.
