Jan Wouters studeerde Technologie - en Innovatiebeleid én Bedrijfswetenschappen en is o.a. directeur van het Nederlands Centrum voor Autohistorische Documentatie. Hij deed eerder onderzoek naar het falen van de Wankelmotor, zowel vanuit een technologische als economische insteek. Hij is onderzoeker en schrijver en maakt in dit boek op boeiende wijze een leerzame koppeling tussen verleden, heden en toekomst.
