Paperback Engels 2000 9780198297246Samenvatting
This is a study of the commercial development and uses of genetic engineering from the 1970s onwards. Maureen McKelvey focuses on two firms–Genentech in the US, and Kabi in Sweden–and compares their initiatives, activities, and organization as they brought knowledge to the market in the form of insulin and the human growth hormone. Evolutionary Innovations was awarded the Schumpeter Society book prize in 1996. For this paperback edition the author has written a new introduction in which she reflects upon the most recent developments in biotechnology.
