Key Selling Points Pride: The Celebration and the Struggle examines the history, identity, celebration and future of Pride.The first edition of Pride: Celebrating Diversity & Community has sold over 25,000 copies.This updated and expanded edition of Pride celebrates the LGBTQ+ community’s diversity and the incredible victories of the past fifty years—but it also has a larger focus on activism, the need to keep fighting for equality and freedom around the world and the important role that young people are playing.The author is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and has been attending Pride celebrations for over thirty years.The author has spoken about LGBTQ+ issues and Pride to thousands of students across Canada. She has also presented to librarians, teachers and education students on topics such as supporting LGBTQ+ youth, creating safe spaces for them, ensuring inclusion in classrooms and libraries and starting GSAs in schools.
