Eating Disorders

Television, films, and others that pass for cultural activities worship the body thin. This distortion of reality and the abundance of food in the developed countries of the world have spawned an epidemic of disorders connected to the food. Extremes such as intensive concern about one's body image and total disregard for it have resulted in many countries which contain enormous segments of the population who are either obese and proud of it or bordering on anorexia nervosa. Unfortunately, these diseases are not trivial in their consequences, leading sometimes to fatal outcomes and almost always to a state of depression. Recent research has shown a startling correlation between obesity and heart disease, cancer, kidney failure, and numerous other diseases. Anorexia nervosa, bulemia, and bingeing from a triad of diseases which threaten the well-being of several million moistly young people.
