We probably know the lazy project manager’s theory of projects from a productive laziness aspect: ‘All the projects are thick at one end, much, much thinner in the middle and then thick again at the far end.’ And the second theory ‘If you want to get a brontosaurus from A to B then you ride the dinosaur – you don’t carry it.’
If you haven’t read these books this book can be seen as their successor or next updated print. If you have read those books the statement at the back of the book that this book is fully updated to reflect developments in artificial intelligence, remote working and more, I would say that what the book offers is pretty thin. A few AI paragraphs taken from AI and the project manager and very little else new.
The setup in short paragraphs deprives the reader of getting into a nice flow in reading. but that was the same in the original books. in addition, I am not a fan of constantly bringing yourself up in the text and telling you how good you are anyway.
if you are familiar with The lazy project manager then this book doesn’t add anything. If you don’t know that book, then The Lazy Winning Project Manager is an up-to-date version but don’t expect any new insights on personal productivity in an AI powered world.
